You are invited to take part in a research project about physical activity and sedentary behaviour in people with myasthenia gravis. This is a research project being conducted by researchers at The University of Queensland. To be eligible for this study, you must meet the following criteria:

- Have a diagnosis of myasthenia gravis and be aged 18 – 80 years
- Be able to mobilise independently with or without a walking aid (excluding wheelchairs)
- Had stable symptoms for the last four weeks prior to commencing the study (can be currently receiving treatment)

Please discuss with the team should you have any questions. Participation in this research is voluntary. You don’t have to participate in the research if you do not want to. If you decide you would like to participate, you will be asked to indicate your provision of consent at the bottom of this page before proceeding.

There is currently very little research exploring levels of physical activity and sitting time in people with myasthenia gravis, despite a substantial amount of evidence indicating that physical activity and sitting time have a significant impact on a broad range of health and wellbeing outcomes. This research will allow us to gain a greater understanding of the current levels of physical activity and sitting time and what factors may contribute to these patterns of activity and inactivity.

Participation in this research involves completing an online survey that will ask you a range of questions about you, your health and how your health impacts on your everyday life.

Your participation in any research project is entirely voluntary. You do not have to participate if you do not want to. If you do participate but later decide you don’t want to anymore, you are able to withdraw from the study at any time.

It is expected that the results of this research project will be shared with other researchers and health professionals, however data will be presented in aggregate form only (averages) with no individual data shared. The results will not include any identifying information such as your name or other identifying information.  Any and all information collected will be kept confidential and stored securely for the duration of the study. At the conclusion of the study, all identifying information about you will be removed and de-identified information only will be stored for 5 years.

If you want further information about this project or if you have any problems related to your involvement in the project, you can contact one of the principal investigators:
