2019 Audubon Convention Scholarship Application

The 2019 Audubon Convention (July 26-29, 2019) will feature an array of inspiring speakers, in-depth workshops and discussions, exciting field trips, and the camaraderie and networking opportunities that only the Audubon Convention can provide. Situated on Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is a beautiful and historic place to gather, learn, and network.

Generous Audubon supporters have created a scholarship fund to support the attendance of Audubon chapter leaders, volunteers, and other grassroots conservation leaders who are contributing to Audubon's mission.

Scholarships will be awarded on merit and on a first-come, first-served basis, so please apply early!

We are pleased to offer two scholarship options to support Audubon Convention participation.

Sustainer scholarship: $600 (distributed to the individual within 30 days after the conclusion of the convention)
Student and early-career scholarship: Complimentary convention registration (instructions will be sent with scholarship notification), plus $500 to offset other costs (distributed to the individual within 30 days after the conclusion of the convention)

Attend a workshop on advocacy for public policy and create an advocacy action plan you will implement

Implement one of the conservation programs or actions learned at the convention (e.g., coastal stewardship, Climate Watch, Plants for Birds) back home with your chapter or organization

Participate in or help organize at least three post-convention follow-up activities (e.g., flyway work-group meetings, webinars, online network meetings)

Mentor or form a peer-to-peer partnership with another convention attendee at the event and for one year following

Create and commit to implement a chapter board development strategy and/or a strategic roadmap

Assume a leadership role for a campus chapter program (e.g., help start a new campus chapter, serve on the board of a campus chapter, or lead a campus chapter activity)
