About the research

Monash University and Life Saving Victoria are conducting a research project to better understand how to design more effective, inclusive and location-specific coastal safety signage. This research is being supported by Bass Coast Shire Council, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, City of Casey, Enliven and Belgravia Leisure.
We're looking for anyone aged 18+ to take part in a short virtual reality (VR) experience to test unique coastal safety signage designs and provide feedback — no prior VR experience is needed.
Your insights could help shape the future of coastal safety across Victoria.

What's involved?

A short 20-25 minute session, at one of our four sites, where we’ll provide you a headset to try a custom VR beach safety experience. You’ll complete two brief surveys before and after the experience to share your thoughts.

Who can take part?
Anyone aged 18+ is welcome.
If you are prone to motion sickness, you may not be eligible to participate. A short questionnaire will be provided prior to participation to screen for this.

Note: If you have your own VR headset, you can complete the research in your own time through the free Liminal app on Meta. Please contact research@lsv.com.au if you have any issues.
