Great things are happening for active transportation in Kansas! If you are unfamiliar with the term, “active transportation” is walking, using a wheelchair or scooter, bicycling, roller skating or skateboarding for transportation.
Pedestrian improvements, multi-use pathways, and more convenient connections to the places you need to go are being planned, designed, and built across the state. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is currently developing its first active transportation plan in 25 years. As part of the process, we're collecting community members' active transportation stories via this survey. By sharing your story (text and/or photo), you are giving KDOT permission to share it via our
web page (www.ksdot.org/KansasATP.asp), on
www.facebook.com/KansasATP, and/or in the final planning document. We will not share your name.
We believe sharing active transportation stories will help others discover the benefits of walking, cycling, roller skating, boarding, electric scooters, and bike share for transportation purposes, in addition to recreational ones. Please share your active transportation story today and encourage friends and family to do the same!
