Greetings!

Hanover will celebrate its 11th annual Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) on April 20th-22nd, 2018. GYSD is the largest service event in the world, mobilizing millions of youth volunteers to lead and participate in service projects. To showcase service projects and to generate interest in GYSD, Hanover County will be hosting a Kick-Off Party on March 17th, 2018 from 12:30-2:30pm at the Patrick Henry YMCA.

Between 12:30 and 1pm, Hanover County will recognize youth and young people who have demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism and made a difference in their community. Those nominated will receive a certificate in honor of their achievement as a "Young Change Maker" and have their photo taken with fellow nominees.Young Change Makers must be nominated by peers, adult allies, family or friends.

Young Change Maker Qualifications:
1. The nominee lives in Hanover County.
2. The nominee is under the age 25.

To nominate a young person in your life for the Kick-Off Party's Young Change Maker Recognition, please submit the following nomination form. You are welcome to nominate as many young people as you'd like!

In addition to the Kick-Off Party, Hanover County hosts a Spirit of Volunteerism Awards in May.
