A group of Bishop Baraga School parents has requested that the parish consider extending the school to seventh grade, to better fit within the structure of the public school system in Cheboygan. In 2014, the Cheboygan Public School District reconfigured the school structure to include an elementary school (k-2), intermediate school (3-7) and high school (8-12). With this new change, students graduating from Bishop Baraga School after sixth grade enter the public school system into the last level of the intermediate school for just one year before starting high school.

Parents are requesting that an extension to Bishop Baraga School be considered so that students graduating would move directly to the high school. There are several benefits to this change, but also challenges.

We are are asking for input from the parish community about the decision.  Thank you in advance for your time!
