This is the 5th Ob/Gyn Hospitalist Employment and Salary survey since our first analysis in 2011. You are receiving this research survey because you are a member of the SOGH website. The results of this survey will add to our important chronicling of the development of our specialty and may help you negotiate your next contract. The broader the response, the better our results will reflect the true state of our field. So THANK YOU!!
Encourage all of your colleagues to respond to this survey. If they are not members of the SOGH website, they will not have received this email. Ask them to go to the website and open the link to this survey - we want the most robust response possible!
This year's survey is being conducted by a member of the SOGH Board of Directors, Cate Stika, an Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology at Northwestern University. It is part of a research study, STU00203758, which has been reviewed and approved by the Investigational Review Board (IRB) of Northwestern University (NU). .
Here's how this survey works:
Based on your responses, the survey will direct you to those questions that are relevant to your employment. The questions for participants other than Ob/Gyn hospitalists will take less than 5 minutes. The Ob/Gyn hospitalist section takes on average 10 - 20 minutes to complete. A progress bar showing the percentage of the survey you have completed will appear at the bottom of each page.
You have the choice to not participate by simply exiting the survey. There are no repercussions for not participating. There are no required questions - we hope that you will complete the entire survey because the more information you provide us, the better we will be able to provide you with an accurate "state of our field." There is a risk of discomfort, as some of the questions request information about potentially sensitive topics, such as salary, job satisfaction and personal choices. If you do not wish to answer a question, you have the choice to skip that question. You also have the choice at any time to stop participating in the survey. The survey is designed so that you can go back and complete the remaining questions at a later time. If you choose to leave your survey incomplete, we will analyze those questions that you have completed. If you wish to withdraw all of your responses, please email me at cstika@societyofobgynhospitalists.org and I will delete your entire survey.

Your responses to this survey will be identified only by a unique subject number. None of the questions request data that can personally associate you with your responses. Your email address will be stored separately from your survey data. All information will be kept on a password protected computer only accessible by the research PI. When the results of the research study are published, no personal names will be used.
