Introduction
Welcome to the Cairnryan Community Consultation on behalf of Cairnryan Community Council (CCC).
Since we developed our last Community Plan in 2023, we have seen several changes to the village, and it's time to see how the local people would like to see things move forward, and how local residents of all ages would like to get involved.
We'd like to hear from all residents of Cairnryan including,
- permanent residents
- people who spend time away for work or study, but still consider Cairnryan their home
- people with a second home in Cairnryan, but spend enough time here to consider it home
Ideally we'd like people to fill out the survey individually, but if that is difficult, one person can complete the survey on behalf of the household - please just make sure you do your best to capture everyone's views.

This survey is in six sections and will ask you about:
1. your overall views on Cairnryan, including what's good and what needs to be improved.
2. your thoughts on the future of the Village Hall
3. your thoughts on the Play Park (you can skip this section if it's not relevant to you)
4. your thoughts on a few other village issues like treatment of Japanese Knotweed
5. your thoughts on whether we should set up a new Community Trust to take our ideas forward.
6. how you'd like to be involved.
The survey may take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete, depending on how many questions you choose to answer, but remember that your views matter, and everything you tell us will really help us to make improvements to our village for everyone. More information about the consultation including how your data will be used
- The community engagement and development of our new Action Plan has been funded by Scottish Power Renewables.
- This survey and other community engagement activities are being run by local social enterprise Sleeping Giants on behalf of the Community Council
- Your answers will be anonymous and only the Sleeping Giants team will see them.
- Sleeping Giants will use your feedback to write our new Community Action Plan and to help us understand other improvements which are needed in the village.
- By filling in and returning this survey, you will be agreeing to your answers being used in the ways described above
- The final section of this survey will invite you to say how you'd like to be involved in the future, and to share your personal details which will be shared with and stored by Cairnryan Community Council. This information will be dealt with separately to your previous answers, which will remain anonymous.
- If you agree to have your property assessed by the Japanese Knotweed specialist, your contact information will also be passed to them so they can get in touch with you.
