Introduction
The World Health Organization HIV department is preparing new guidelines on two topics:
Same day start of ART: Whether ART should be started on the same day of a diagnosis of HIV or on the same day that a person comes to a clinic looking for treatment for HIV. This is sometimes known as “same-day start” of ART.

Package of care for people with advanced HIV disease: The best combination of preventative treatment for people living with HIV who look for care when they already have advanced HIV disease (when they are already at a late stage of HIV and have a low CD4 count <200mm3)
