BAMSL's LGBTQ+ Committee is putting an article together about what Pride means to LGBTQ+ lawyers and legal professionals in the St. Louis metropolitan area. We'd love to hear from you and get your thoughts. Please be aware that we may include what you say in our article, so you have the option of submitting anonymously (just leave the personally-identifying fields blank). Space is limited, but we'll do our best to include as many perspectives as possible. Submissions must be received by May 1, 2021.

Question Title

* 1. You are welcome to share whatever thoughts and experiences you'd like. If you'd like some questions to help generate ideas, you can consider the following:
  • What does Pride mean to you as an LGBTQ+ person?
  • How does your LGBTQ+ identity inform your work as a lawyer or legal professional?
  • Do you feel like you can be your full, genuine self at work? What kinds of things make you feel safe (or would make you feel safe) to be out at work (e.g., an express non-discrimination policy, other out attorneys, etc.)?
  • What does it mean to you to be an LGBTQ+ person in St. Louis?
  • When and how did you come out to family, friends, co-workers/colleagues? How did they make you feel comfortable (or uncomfortable?) with their reactions?
  • What makes you proud to be LGBTQ+?

Thank you for sharing. While you are welcome to keep your submission anonymous, you can also tell us who you are. If you share the below information with us, we may attribute your response to you, so it’s up to you if you want to stay anonymous!
