SURVEY OBJECTIVE: 
The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) has asked all workforce planning boards across Ontario to ask local employers who hire in the skilled trades which skilled trades are most in demand, challenges they have experienced with hiring, and ways to improve the apprenticeship system.

As a workforce planning board, the Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC) would like to ask local employers, like you, to complete this survey to help us better understand what the needs are in Algoma. 

IMPORTANCE OF EMPLOYER  INPUT 
Your input is essential to help:
  • find ways to identify and address the shortage of qualified workers in the skilled trades;
  • better align local employment and training programs with the needs of local industry; and
  • contribute to efforts to ensure the availability of a highly skilled and trained workforce in our Northern communities.

  • Please answer all questions as accurately and completely as possible.
  • The survey should take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

This survey has been designed to protect your identity.  All answers will be treated in strict confidence and will be used for statistical purposes and published in aggregate form only. A copy of the results will be made available at www.awic.ca in December 2019, following the completion of the report on our local area.  If you would like to have a copy of the report, please provide your email address at the end of this survey.
