Echinacea (Coneflower)

This native perennial is known for its distinctive cone-shaped center. With flowers coming in an array of colorful choices, these bountiful bloomers provide long-lasting color from July through October.

Plant in full sun for the most blooms - tolerates part shade. Once established they are drought tolerant and low maintenance. Deer resistant and make excellent cut flowers. Attract and support all types of bees and butterflies Dried seed heads are valuable to birds.

Rudbeckia (Black-Eyed Susan)

A drought tolerant native selection once established. Produces easily recognizable flowers that have bright, deep yellow petals surrounding a dark center. Bloom generously mid-to-late summer.

Full Sun - can tolerate partial shade. Attracts a wide range of pollinators including birds. Deer-resistant and low-maintenance.

• Widely loved and recognizable

Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Weed)

A vibrant orange native wildflower that plays a critical role in supporting monarch butterflies. Typically flowers from June through August. Attracts pollinators of all types.

Thrives in sunny areas - once established can tolerate poor soil conditions and is drought tolerant. This native milkweed species is also deer and rabbit resistant.

• Bright, eye-catching color

Liatris spicata (Gayfeather / Blazing Star)

Unique native perennial that features tall purple, pink or white flower spikes that bloom from top to bottom, July through September. Adds vertical interest to landscapes and makes a great cut flower.

Prefers full sun but tolerates some partial shade. A favorite of bees, butterflies, and birds it performs in drought tolerant and poor clay soil situations.
