EXPERIENCES OF THE NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME (NDIS)

The purpose of this survey is to inform Occupational Therapy Australia’s presentation at the upcoming National NDIS Mental Health Conference in November. OTA’s presentation will focus on current issues associated with the provision of NDIS services for people with psychosocial disability. The presentation is titled ‘Keep Calm and Carry On: A newcomer’s guide to the NDIS’. It will be delivered by Anita Volkert, OTA’s National Manager: Professional Practice and Development.

In addition, OTA has been invited to submit an article for the newparadigm journal, which is published in partnership with Community Mental Health Australia and the peak community mental health organisations across Australia.

We are keen to hear from mental health consumers and carers about their experiences with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). In particular, we want to know about the challenges you have faced navigating the NDIS and accessing services. Please note that not all questions may be relevant to you in your current situation.

OTA recognises that this is a sensitive topic and, as such, it is not necessary to provide a response to all questions. In particular, we understand that not all respondents will feel comfortable divulging information about their condition. We would, however, greatly appreciate as much detail as you are able to provide in your responses.

Please note that by completing this survey, you are giving permission for OTA to publish or reference your responses in our presentation at the conference, and/or in the article published in newparadigm. All responses will be de-identified.
