T&H Youth Summit - Call for Proposals

Gunalcheesh and Haw’aa for volunteering your time and energy to share your knowledge and hold up our next generation of leaders. This will be our second annual Youth Summit beginning on Thursday, March 17 to Saturday, March 19, 2022. This event will be held virtually via Zoom. 
Please be prepared to present virtually.  

We will have technical assistance available before and during the event.  

Please submit a separate proposal for each workshop you are interested in presenting.

Summit Purpose and Objective

·         Provide an opportunity for youth to engage in our Tribal government;

·         Inspire pride in our cultural identity and heritage;

·         Strengthen participants’ understanding and engagement with topics relevant to tribal youth;

·         Empower youth leadership, innovation, commitment, and sharing of their knowledge;

·         Foster networking, sharing, discussion, and community building;

·         Build advocacy within and among youth.

Due to planning and logistics, we can accept proposals through Friday, March 11, 2022Please submit ASAP to assure this information gets onto the website! Proposals accepted after this date may not provide sufficient time to include workshop information.

* 2. Youth Summit is a culturally radiant and safe place for our youth and other summit participants. Whether we are in-person or virtual, we work to ensure that those presenting, working with, and sharing time with our precious participants are committed to this as well. We would never knowingly subject our participants to anyone with a history of child or Elder abuse - physical, sexual, mental, financial, or other forms of abuse. By submitting this call for Proposals, you are confirming that you and the co-presenters understand this and are also committed to it. This is a condition of registration in order for us to best protect our summit participants and ensure a culturally vibrant and safe space.

The images and video from this event will be used to further inform and educate youth on T&H Tribal Government, challenges facing youth today, and our ways of life. T&H may use, display, publish, and/or distribute names, images, or voice in any publication, multimedia production, display, advertisement, or World-Wide WebPublication, without limitation as to time.
