NOMINATION APPLICATION & INSTRUCTIONS
This award recognizes outstanding infant, toddler and preschool teachers for their dedication, professionalism, demonstrated engagement of families, and excellence in the care and education of San Francisco's youngest residents.
Please read the requirements carefully as your application must address each area clearly and completely. When writing your nomination statement, be succinct, and inform the reader about specifics related to each area.
The deadline for nominations is 5:00 p.m. Monday March 20, 2017.
ELIGIBILITY
This award recognizes outstanding infant, toddler and preschool teachers for their dedication, professionalism, demonstrated engagement of families, and excellence in the care and education of San Francisco's youngest residents.

ELIGIBILITY
Nominee(s) must meet all of the following criteria:
· Currently working at an Early Learning Schools or Family Child Care that is funded by the City & County of San Francisco.
· Nominees must work at least 25 hours each week in the classroom as a teacher.
· Have taught early childhood education for a minimum of three years.
· Be nominated by a person affiliated with the program.
· Be working in a program in good standing with licensing.
SELECTION PROCESS
A selection committee made up of early childhood professionals will review and select five teachers or teaching teams for this year's awards. The application review will be based upon a balanced, thoughtful and impartial evaluation, taking into consideration the candidate's record, including:
(1) Commitment to excellence in teaching through outstanding and/or innovative activities and lessons.
(2) Enthusiasm for teaching and learning that is evident in the classroom environment and climate.
(3) Promoting positive relationships with colleagues, the preschool and the community.
(4) Strong partnership with colleagues, families, and other professionals on behalf of children.
