Citizens Leadership Academy
The City of Raleigh Community Services Department sponsors the Citizens Leadership Academy to help you gain the skills to become a leader in your community.
Applications are being accepted for the fall 2012 session.
Citizens Leadership Academy is divided into three modules, and each module has four classes. Classes meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays from Sept. 6 to Nov. 29. You can sign up for one, two or all three modules.
At the end of each module, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. You must attend at least three of the four classes to receive this certificate. When you complete all three modules, you will receive the Academy Leadership Plaque. Because Citizens Leadership Academy is held in the spring and fall, you can complete all three modules over the course of a year.
Residents of the City of Raleigh and its areas of extraterritorial jurisdiction receive priority for admission into the Citizens Leadership Academy and attend free of charge. Other residents of Wake County are accepted into Citizens Leadership Academy depending on available space for a fee of $40 per module, or $110 for three modules. Fees are due at least three days before the first class.
