Connecticut Avenue Pedestrian Audit
Welcome!
The Connecticut Avenue Pedestrian Safety Assessment is a community-driven effort to create a safe and walkable Connecticut Avenue.
Our goal is to engage residents through this survey, an interactive map, and a volunteer pedestrian audit to help us identify the problems along Connecticut Avenue from Calvert Street to Western Avenue. Using these results and with technical assistance from Toole Design Group, a traffic engineering consulting firm, we will work with the District Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Police Department to develop a pedestrian plan for Connecticut Avenue by the fall of 2010 and then work with the appropriate city and federal officials to get funding for the implementation of the plan.
Your feedback will help inform a pedestrian conditions assessment that we will be conducting in spring 2010.
CAPA, Connecticut Avenue Pedestrian Action, formed out of Iona Senior Services Pedestrian Initiative, Murch Elementary School Safe Routes to School Project and a host of residents and civic groups.
