WHAT IS A TRIMORE TEAM CAPTAIN?
TRIMORE Team Captains are the essential lifeblood of the TRIMORE group training programs. They direct communication and provide peer, moral and logistical support to the athletes and coaches of our group training programs. We currently have a team of great Captains, and want to add a few more for 2011 to help round out our programs.

HOW LONG IS THE COMMITMENT?
The program is a one year (renewable) mutual commitment between you and TRIMORE fitness, during which time you will be asked to be a TRIMORE Team Captain for at least 1 group training program. The dates will be from February 1, 2011 - January 30th, 2012.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
Ideally, you would be an experienced triathlete with at least 2 olympic or longer distance races under your belt, a positive outlook, a natural sense of organization, and a “can-do” attitude. While it is highly desirable that you have participated previously as a group athlete with TRIMORE Fitness, that is not required. Exceptions can be made based on other qualifications and experience.

WHAT DOES A TRIMORE TEAM CAPTAIN DO?
You are not expected to coach, we have a talented team of coaches in place. A Team Captain will assist those coaches in providing the best possible racing and training experience for our athletes for a given program. They will do this by directing all communication with the group athletes, including weekly emails that will wrap up the previous weekend’s events and give direction / advice for the coming week. The Team Captain will also attend all coached workouts for that program, and provide training support (eg: be a sweep on a bike ride, or in a kayak on the bay), moral support, encouragement, and mentoring to our group athletes during those workouts. They will also be on hand during the actual race itself to continue support and encouragement. In addition, over the course of the year, the Team Captain will attend relevant TRIMORE Fitness staff meetings, adhere to the TRIMORE Fitness Code of Conduct, and provide logistical support (as needed) to our coaches for training weekends, races & events.

BENEFITS
In exchange for their work during the year, the TRIMORE Team Captain will receive access to valuable triathlon coaching, training and discounts, including a year’s worth of:
1. Free personal coaching and evaluation sessions by Coach Neil and other TRIMORE coaches (as available, on an occasional basis)
2. Free participation in two group (TAG, HIT or CORE) programs of their choice
3. Free drop-in sessions (pending available space) for group swimming, T3 and RST classes
4. Free lodging for TRIMORE training weekends (pending available space)
5. A Free Training Peaks account
6. Deep discounts on TRIMORE merchandise and gear
7. Deep discounts (when available) on partner merchandise and gear

1. Please tell us about yourself

2. A simple, but important question: Why do you want to be a TRIMORE Team Captain?

3. What would make you a unique, valuable member of the TRIMORE team? Do you have any capabilities or special skills that you think will benefit TRIMORE athletes or coaches?

For example:
- Do you have certain personal traits that you think are beneficial? (eg: people person, organized, laid-back, patient)
- Do you have any life experience as a mentor, teacher or coach that you think is relevant
- Do you see a specific need in our programs that you could fulfill?
- Do you have a specific athletic talent (eg: was All-American Swim in College) that you believe can help to round out the TRIMORE team?

4. An important part of being a Team Captain is understanding what one of our group athletes will go through during the course of a 10- or 12-week program. Have you been through TAG, HIT or CORE with TRIMORE before?

5. As a TRIMORE Team Captain, you will be expected to attend at least 75% of the "coached" workout sessions for the training program that you are Captain for. Emergencies and other situations do arise, and we are flexible. But in general, will you be able to meet this expectation?

6. As long as you are a TRIMORE Team Captain, you are representing the TRIMORE company. If you are selected as a Team Captain, you will be expected to maintain the utmost in professionalism when engaging with our athletes, or in the triathlon community (especially when wearing the TRIMORE logo). In addition, you will be asked to sign the TRIMORE Code of Conduct. Are you willing to sign a Code of Conduct?

7. During your time as a TRIMORE Team Captain, you may be photographed by a TRIMORE staff member. These photographs may be used in general marketing and promotion material by TRIMORE. To support this, if selected as a Team Captain, you will be asked to sign a general marketing release. Are you willing to do so?

8. Moving forward TRIMORE we will be offering kids camps and programs. As such, we may require background checks to comply with various regulations and insurance compliances. Would you agree to a background check?

Please note: A criminal record may or may not affect your application with TRIMORE.

9. That's it!
