 | The Collector Settings allow you to determine how the links work or "behave". In other words, they determine how your links work when respondents click the link before and after saving responses. You will need to set the Collector setting for each Collector you create.
To opens the Collector settings, click the Collect icon from the My Surveys page > then the Collector Title > then the Change Settings button. |
| Configure the Settings for the Collector and click [Save Settings] to save. We explain each of the possible Settings below. Yes, you may change the settings after you have sent out the link. The system updates all links automatically when you change the Settings. |
Email Invitation Collector Settings: | - Allow responses to be edited?
- Display a Thank you page?
- Add a different Redirect?
- Save Email Address in Results?
|

| You cannot set the link to Allow Multiple Responses because the Email Invitation link can be used by only one respondent. The Email Invitation Collector only allows one response per respondent. Should multiple people use the link sent to them in their emails from the Email Invitation Collector on the same computer, the link will work because a unique link is created for each respondent. Also, if a link is forwarded, the first respondent's response will open with his results. Any edits made to a survey that opens with results will "overwrite" or erase the first survey. |
|
- No: Selecting “No” prevents respondents from editing the survey once a page is submitted. Once a page in the survey is submitted, respondents cannot go back and change existing responses. This means, once the “Next” link is clicked, or the page is submitted, respondents will not be able to go backward in the survey to make edits. (Once respondents click "Next" page they will not be able to return to previous pages. The "Previous" link will not be visible.) This is a forward only setting. Respondents can access the survey until it has been submitted by clicking the final "Done" button. Accessing the link a second time from the email message opens the survey to the last page that was not answered. For example, a respondent completes through page two of a survey and stops. Later the respondent clicks the link to finish the survey, the survey opens to page three for the respondent to continue. The "Prev" navigation link is not visible in the survey for the respondent to go back to edit responses. The respondent can move forward only in the survey. (With this setting, once the "Done" or "Submit" button is clicked, the respondent will not be able to re-enter the survey, instead the survey redirect page opens.)
- Yes: Selecting “Yes,” respondents can go back to previous pages in the survey and update existing responses until the survey is finished or until they have exited the survey gives respondents the option of going back and editing or updating existing responses until the "Done" or "Submit" link is clicked. After the survey is finished, the respondent will not be able to re-enter the survey. (With this setting, once the "Done" or "Submit" button is clicked, the respondent will not be able to re-enter the survey.)
- Yes: Selecting “Yes,” respondents can re-enter the survey at any time to update their responses gives respondents the ability to re-enter the survey at any time to update their responses. Clicking the link will open the survey and permit editing even after the survey has been submitted. (This setting allows the survey link to be accessed at any time for edits.)
Recommended for this collector type if you wish to allow edits.
Display a Thank you page?
Add a Redirect Page upon Survey Completion?
- Redirect to your own webpage or
- Close Window.
The Survey Completion section is used to change the page respondents are directed to upon completion of the survey or exiting the survey. To set the redirect option, you will first need to open the Collector and click the
[
Change Settings] button; then, scroll down the page until you see the Survey Completion option.
- By Default, respondents are directed to our website, but the URL in this field may be changed to any website you would like by deleting the text in the box an adding a URL of your choice.
- Or you may select to have the survey window close after the “Submit” link has been clicked by selecting “Close Window”.

The Survey Redirect option is a professional feature.
Save Email Address in Results?

Saving the Email Address in your results allows you to track respondent information
- If you select “No,” the tracking information from your email list will not be collected. – Your results will be anonymous.
- If you select “Yes,” the tracking information will be stored in your results.
 | When selecting “Yes,” the tracking or information from your email list will be stored in your results, you can then decide later to select “No” and the results will then be anonymous. If you choose “No” when you begin collection, it will not be possible to recover the IP or Tracking information in the survey results. (Clicking the email address from your respondent list does open the survey. It is not possible to disable this feature.) |

Testing Collector Settings |
| The test message feature in your account tests the formatting of your message only. |
*To test how the link works with the Collector settings you select and track the respondent information, please send an actual message instead of using the test message feature. You can use the custom criteria option to send the message to only one person in your list or create a "Test" Collector.
If you create a "Test" Collector, please format the second Collector settings exactly the same as you set the Collector you will be sending to your recipients. Because surveys may have one or multiple Collectors, each Collector may have its unique settings and restrictions. To see how the settings work per Collector, the survey must be tested as if you were a respondent using the actual Collector link sent via the Email Invitation mail system.
Can respondents start the survey on one computer and access the same survey later on another computer?
Respondents are able to access their unique link sent through the message manager from any computer to edit or complete their surveys at a later date. (They will not be able to do so with the anonymous link or (Web Link).) The survey will open with responses for editing depending on the selected Collector Setting. The link sent via the Email Invitation Collector to an individual is survey specific, meaning it will always open the same survey. If the link is forwarded or used by someone else, the original survey will be edited.
Edit the Name of a Collector
