This opens your survey in a PDF file for you to easily print!
The survey prints individual pages by default. Select "Print Without Page Breaks" to produce an 'overall' survey print. The PDF of your survey is basically a 'snap-shot' of the survey design. You will not see menu options in the PDF printable version of the survey. Click for Printing Troubleshooting.
Which Print Style should I select? For Color?
The PDF for printing, Optimized For Printing, will be in black and white, while the PDF of the Current Theme will appear exactly as your survey is displayed excluding the logo. (We do not include the logo in the printout due to the way the survey is captured.)
- "Optimized for Printing style prints in black and white
- "Use Current Theme" style prints the survey using the theme colors set for the survey
Which Orientation should I select?
If you have many wide matrix question types in your survey, please select the Landscape orientation form the Orientation drop-down menu. The Landscape orientation will print the survey horizontally across the page.
Paper Size
- Letter 10.63 × 13.75 in
- Legal 10.63 X 17.50 in
- A4 210mm x 297mm
When you print the document, you should be able to select the way the page scales from a drop-down menu labeled "Page Scaling." From the drop-down, you will be able to choose "Shrink to Printable Area" or "Fit to Printable Area" and these options should adjust the file to fit to whatever paper size you have selected in the properties menu.

Tips:
| Logos do not print!
Dropdown menu choices do not print!
|
Avoid using drop-down menu answer choices if you need to print a PDF of the survey. Skip Logic in design: Please explain Skip Logic Patterns within the survey text. For example: If a person is to move to a certain section, include the skip information within the online survey design in the question text, next to the answer choice, or in the Page Description. |

| Common Questions |
|
| Question: |
| Can respondents print their results upon completion? |
| |
| Support Answer: |
| Currently, we do not offer a way for respondents to print their individual surveys upon completion. To print your results, you will need to export your data or print each one manually. We do offer a way to share all responses collected via a Shared Response Link . |
| |
| Question: |
| How can I set my survey so that my respondents can print out the entire survey prior to filling it out online? |
| |
| Support Answer: |
Respondents cannot directly print the entire survey before taking it unless the survey is one page (print by using the print feature in the browser). You can attach the PDF version of the survey in the email you send for respondents to print. Or, you host the PDF on your website and provide a link to the PDF for respondents to print the entire survey before taking it. Another option is to copy the survey, remove all of the page breaks and post the link for the printable version for respondents to print the survey before taking it. This option requires you to post the Collector link for the second, single page survey for printing. |
