Yes, you set the link response options. This tutorial explains each setting under the [Change Settings] button of the (Web Link) Collector when you select multiple responses per computer:

Select  Yes, I would like to allow multiple responses per computer

The Collector Settings let you to determine the settings or survey "behavior" for the survey link or Collector
You choose: Will you allow multiple responses for the survey, Yes or No?

The Multiple Responses per Computer setting refreshes the cookie each time the link is accessed to open a new, blank survey for a fresh response. Respondents cannot re-enter the survey after it has been closed to make edits later. This also means it is not possible for other respondents to see anyone else's response.

On this page:

  2. Add a Thank You page?
  3. Add a redirect page upon survey completion?
  4. Save IP address with results?
Note: The Web Link Settings are stored with a cookie on the respondent's computer.

Set or stored with a cookie: What does this mean?

These settings work under two conditions:

  1. Respondents take the survey on the same computer and browser
  2. Cookies are enabled. The cookies must be saved - cookie-dependent!(Note: Some browser security settings do automatically delete cookies after every session.)

When you select Yes: allow multiple responses per computer the following options open for allowing edits.

  • No:  once a page is submitted, respondents cannot go back and change existing responses. Selecting “No” prevents respondents from editing the survey once a page is submitted.  This means, once the “Next” link is clicked, or the page is submitted, respondents will not be able to go backward in the survey to make edits. (After respondents click "Next" page they will not be able to return to previous pages.  The "Previous" link will not be visible.)
  • Yes:  respondents can go back and update existing responses until the survey is finished. After finishing, the respondent will not be able to re-enter the survey. (Once the Done link has been clicked or the survey has been exited or closed, they will not be able to open the survey again.  Instead, a new blank survey will open for the next respondent when the link is clicked a second time.)
